Hi, and thanks for visiting my page!  I am a portrait photographer in Brandywine, MD.  I began my photography career in 2008 as a hobby and creative outlet but I enjoyed it so much that I decided to get serious and earned my Certificate of Professional Photography in January, 2011 from the New York Institute of Photography.  Originally more interested in landscape photography, I grew to love portraiture as I was asked to do an increasing number of portraits for friends and family.  I love the creativity in portraiture that allows me to make beautiful images of people that will become treasured heirlooms for their families as they grow and change.

 

Having grown up in Oregon, I have always had a love of the outdoors.  In Oregon it was never very difficult to find a beautiful setting for a family portrait.  Over the last 10 years, my husband and I have lived many places thanks to his career in the Coast Guard and I always enjoy finding new natural settings for portraits in each place that we move to.   

 

Now that we’re in Mobile, Alabama, I’m again finding many new ideas for unique and gorgeous family portraits.  The cotton fields in the fall make a great backdrop and are such a quintessential southern theme.  There are so many wonderful gardens to photograph in during the spring with their rich floral colors.  The white beaches make such breezy bright summer portraits.  Even in the winter I’ve found fields with the perfect tall tan grasses that add such a warm cozy feel to a portrait.
